Powers of Attorney

A Power of Attorney is a legal document that empowers someone else to take actions or make decisions on your behalf. You choose the person you want to help you, called an “attorney,” and decide what powers they should have.

If you become ill or lose capacity and do not have a Power of Attorney (POA), no one can act on your behalf. A Power of Attorney allows your family and loved ones to deal with your personal and financial affairs, such as going to the bank or signing legal documents.

Preparing a Power of Attorney POA is not a particularly difficult, time-consuming, or expensive process. Generally, a couple of consultations with our solicitor will be sufficient.
